Wilda Venita Gensler of Belgrade, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Potosi Manor at the age of 89. Born on January 13, 1937, in Hazel Creek, Missouri, Wilda was the youngest of nine children born to Dolphus Marler and Sally (Goodson) Marler. She attended Pine City Grade School, a small township school west of Belgrade. Throughout her life, Wilda was known for her strong work ethic and caring spirit.

When her health allowed, Wilda faithfully attended Hopewell Church of God for many years. She found great joy in singing gospel songs and cherished spending time with her family. She had a special love for children and delighted in tending to her flowers and plants. Wilda also enjoyed taking road trips through the country and was well known for her sweet tooth. Her gentle heart, kind nature, and simple pleasures brought joy to those who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Diana Lands; her son, Derek (Bridgett) Gensler; her sister, Nelda Lands; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Wilda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Rev. Joseph Gensler; two stepchildren, Joseph Paul Gensler and Sharon "Pinky" Carson; her granddaughter, Caylin Gensler; seven siblings, Orville Silvey, Goldie Silvey Pelich, Merlin Silvey, Marie Obranovic, Donald Silvey, Wanda Russell, and Veldon Marler; and her parents-in-law, Oscar and Josie Gensler.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at New Diggins Cemetery with Pastor Lee Miller officiating. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care of DeClue Funeral Home.

Wilda's legacy of faith, love for family, and quiet kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
