Virginia Ann Montgomery

Virginia Ann Montgomery, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born on May 15, 1942, in Caledonia, Missouri, to Howard and Rosalie (Greenia) Halbert, both of whom have preceded her in death.

Virginia devoted her life to her family and her home, fulfilling her role as a housewife with grace and love. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often taking cherished trips to Branson with her sister-in-laws. Those close to her fondly remember her laughter, her enjoyment of family gatherings especially during the holidays, and  the delightful memories created while playing cards or dining out with loved ones.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jack Montgomery, and their sons, Mark (wife, Margaret) Montgomery and Craig Montgomery. Virginia cherished her role as a grandmother to Ian and Karissa Montgomery and a great-grandmother to Lincoln and Valorie. Additionally, she leaves behind her cherished siblings: Harold Halbert (wife, Vivian), Milford Halbert, and Wayne Halbert (wife, Caroline). Virginia also leaves behind extended family and friends. 

In addition to her parents, Virginia is also preceded in passing by her brothers: Robert Halbert and James Halbert; as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Virginia's legacy will be celebrated by all who knew and loved her at DeClue Funeral Home in Potosi. Visitation was held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 11 am until the time of her funeral service at 2 pm. Elder Mike Jarvis officiated Mrs. Montgomery's service. Interment will follow at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
