Trina Louise Valley

Dec 8, 1964 — Sep 27, 2026

Potosi

Trina Louise Valley, 61, of Potosi, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 27, 2026. Trina was born on December 8, 1964, in Blackwell, Missouri, to the late Melvin and Marple (Blackwell) Jarvis.

On March 18, 1989, Trina was united in marriage to Carl “Jay” Valley. Together, they shared 37 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, and countless cherished memories.

Trina’s greatest joy in life was her family, and especially her grandchildren, who truly were her world. She loved being present for their lives and could often be found attending their sporting events, cheering them on and proudly supporting them every step of the way. Her grandchildren brought her immeasurable happiness, and the memories she made with them will be treasured by her family.

Trina enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time at home, where she could relax and enjoy crocheting or getting lost in a good romance novel. She also enjoyed attending country music concerts. Holidays were especially meaningful to Trina, and she cherished family gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also enjoyed gathering with family and friends to watch the Super Bowl. Above all, Trina treasured the time spent together with those she loved and the memories created around her home and family.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Jay Valley; her three children, LaShonda Ubaudi and husband, Mike, Adam Lake and wife, Sandra, and Angela Godsey and husband, Clayton; twelve grandchildren, Kenny, Josh, Samantha, Ashton, Lane, Naveah, Beau, Joseph, Calie, Aria, Jasper, and Jake; and her great-grandson, Jason Jordan Ubaudi.

She is also survived by her five siblings, Carl Jarvis and wife, Judy, Dale Jarvis and wife, Vickie, Betty Easter and husband, David, Rosie Jarvis, and Buster Jarvis and wife, Shelly; nephews Melvin Griffin and wife, Hannah, Larry Jean Griffin, and Joshua Fowler; her best friends, Deana Eye and Tina Jarvis; as well as additional nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss her.

In addition to her parents, Trina was preceded in death by her grandson, Johnathin; two siblings, Brenda Cox and Mary Griffin; and her nephew, Harold “Bud” Griffin.

Trina will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, sister, aunt, and treasured friend. Her greatest legacy will be the love she gave so freely to her family, especially the love she had for her grandchildren. Though she is no longer here to cheer from the sidelines, celebrate the holidays, share a quiet evening at home, or gather with loved ones for a favorite tradition, the love and memories she created will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Visitation for Trina will be held Friday, October 2, 2026, from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. at DeClue Funeral Home in Potosi. Visitation will resume Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Pastor Ray Dean Jarvis will be officiating.
