Thomas Stewart Sutton, fondly known as Tom, was born on December 19, 1960, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He passed away at his home in Richwoods, Missouri on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the age of 64. He was the son of the late Thomas Sutton and Joanne (Fyten) Sutton, and he was also preceded in death by his sister, Cynthia Cohee.
Tom had a deep passion for life, which he expressed through his many hobbies and interests. He was especially fond of carpentry and had a great interest in guns. Over the years, he attended many rendezvous. In Tom's early years, he enjoyed deer hunting. Though he enjoyed the thrill of the hunt, cleaning the deer was not his favorite part of the process.
Tom cherished the time spent with his children, particularly at the skate park, Johnson Shut-Ins, and various parks and museums. His family meant the world to him. He is survived by his two daughters, Brittany Mooney and Emily (Ian) Green, and his son, Zakary Sutton. Tom’s love extended to his six grandchildren: Delilah, Arya, Navy, Walker, Zaide, and Addison, who brought joy to his life. Tom is also survived by his sister, Deborah Owens, and other dear relatives who will miss him dearly.
Tom had a lively spirit and a sharp mind, and often enjoyed watching Jeopardy, where he usually knew the answers before they were given. He was also a movie buff who relished in watching older films. One of Tom’s closest friends, Dave, often shared good times with him, and together they enjoyed many adventures.
Tom found joy in being outdoors. He tended to his vegetable garden, which brought him happiness and fulfillment over the years. His loyal dog Buddy, along with his many other dogs, provided companionship that enriched his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
DeClue Funeral Home was honored to have cared for Tom's arrangements.
