Susan Ann Thornton, 71, of Cadet, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Mercy Hospital South. Susan was born on December 19, 1954, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, a daughter of the late Roger Williams and Pauline (Humphrey) Williams.

She was united in marriage to William Michael “Mike” Thornton on August 19, 1979. Together, they shared 47 years of life and memories. Mike preceded her in death on August 15, 2026.

Susan is survived by her four children, Tisha Cole and fiancé, Michael Gibson; William Michael Thornton II; Sherry Jackson and husband, Shane; and Jamie Yount; fifteen grandchildren, Selena, Shane, Kane, Katie, Joseph, Brian, Steven, Kasey, Karley, Nick, Billy, Tiffany, Emma, Peyton, and Madison; many great-grandchildren; her siblings, Roger Williams and wife, Jean, Emmett Humphrey, Laurie Jones and husband, Stanley, Mary Saunders and husband, George, Larry Humphrey, and Jim Humphrey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to her parents and husband, Susan was preceded in death by her grandson, Jacob Pierce, and two siblings, Robert Humphrey and Ginger Cain.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Potosi, Missouri, beside her beloved husband, Mike.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of DeClue Funeral Home in Potosi, Missouri.
