Obituary

Sandra Bernice Pickett was born on February 8, 1960, a daughter of the late Edward Vandergriff and Patsy (Woodruff) Vandergriff. She grew up in Cadet, Missouri, where she made many memories throughout her life. Sandra passed away on October 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness that will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

In her younger years, Sandra worked at YMCA Trout Lodge. She enjoyed many of life's simple pleasures, including yard selling, camping at various places, and especially spending time at Rivermont. She loved taking pontoon rides, making memories with those she loved, and enjoying time outdoors. Sandra also had a special fondness for watching Hallmark Christmas movies, bringing a little extra warmth and joy to her days.

Sandra's faith was an important part of her life. She loved attending church and was a member of Bibleway Gospel Lighthouse. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Samaritan House, where she gave her time to help others. Sandra had a heart for serving those around her, always willing to lend a hand and make a difference in the lives of others.

Above all, Sandra was a selfless woman who always made sure her family and others were taken care of, never expecting anything in return. Her love was evident in the countless ways she put others before herself. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she loved her family more than anything in this world. Sandra's generous spirit, caring heart, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her three children: Randy Pickett, Jr. and LaDonna, Sarah Whitaker and Bryan, and Joseph Pickett and Tanya; her grandchildren: Dawson, Alyssa, McKenzie, Austin, Colton, Caden, Devon and Autumn, Allie, Parker, Quinton, Brayden, Henry, Kassandra, Kiersten, Kristopher, Karson, and Kendall; and her great-granddaughter, Sayla. She is also survived by her siblings: Robert Vandergriff, Eddie Vandergriff and Mary, Dennis Vandergriff and Jeri, Steve Vandergriff, Sherry Govero and Mary “Frog,” Brian Vandergriff, and Bobby Yarber; along with many dear nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her grandson, Ashton Whitaker; her infant brother, Joey Vandergriff; her sister, Debbie Snyder; Virginia Link; and Michelle Vandergriff.
