Ruby King

Ruby Ann King of Potosi, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Mercy Hospital South, having reached the age of 89 years, 6 months, and 3 days. Ruby was born on November 22, 1934 in Huzzah, Missouri, to Don and Mima (Turnbough) Payne.

Ruby was a loving mother, a cherished aunt, and a dear friend to many. She could often be found caring for others in her community, visiting with cats at the local shelter, or attending church at Potosi First Assembly of God. Ruby will be remembered as a woman who spoke her mind, but her sense of humor and love of laughter outshined anything else.

Ruby is survived by her sister-in-law, Doris Payne; as well as nieces, nephews, and dear friends of the community. Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved son, George Breakfield; and three siblings: Donald "Eugene" Payne, Norma Johnson, and Jim "Earl" Payne.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 1 p.m. until the time of her Funeral Service at 3 p.m., held at DeClue Funeral Home. Elder Mike Jarvis will be officiating. Interment and final prayers will follow at Redbud Memorial Gardens beside her son, George.
