Raymond Bourbon Jr. of Mineral Point, Missouri, was born on March 31, 1932 in Cadet, Missouri, a son to the late Raymond Bourbon Sr. and Mary Margaret (Dean) Bourbon. Raymond passed away at his home on Friday, March 15, 2024 at the age of 91.
Those who remain to treasure his memory include his children: Patsy Pyatt, Vicky Bourbon, and Timmy Bourbon; step daughter, Debbie Boyer (husband, Larry); nine grandchildren: Crystal Boyer, TJ Strange, Courtney Bussing, RC Pyatt, Jennifer Pyatt, Gabrielle Bourbon, John Paiyou, Margaret Shy, and Thomas Short; and a host of great grandchildren. Raymond also leaves behind four siblings: Bill Bourbon, Larry Bourbon, Roger (Becky) Bourbon, and Carl (Shirley) Bourbon; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to Raymond’s father and mother, he was preceded in death by two wives: Della (Fitzgerald) Bourbon and Betty (Chandler) Bourbon; grandson, William Barton; eight siblings: Marlene Christopher, Delores Vahlkamp, Norma Jones, Peggy Charboneau, Albert Bourbon, Bobby Joe Bourbon, Clarence Bourbon, and Jesse Bourbon; and many other dear relatives.
Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a lifelong member of VFW Post 6996 of Potosi. Raymond had a great appreciation for the beauty of nature. He found solace in sitting and watching all of the wildlife in his yard. Raymond was also quite the fisherman. He looked forward to being on the water and catching fish. In addition to his love for fishing, Raymond also enjoyed watching Molly B. Polka Party, the Grand Ole Opry, Wheel of Fortune, westerns and listening to old country music. Raymond left an incredible legacy for his family, whom he loved so much. His memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In celebrating the life of Raymond, please join the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday evening, March 19, 2024 from 5 to 8 pm at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, MO 63664. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 9 am until the time of his Funeral Service at 11 am held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Rev. Carol Brown officiating. Interment and final prayers will be held at Boss Cemetery, where Raymond will receive full military honors presented by the U.S. Army.
