Phyllis Jean Pratt, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away on June 4, 2025, in Villa Ridge, Missouri, at the age of 83. She was born on May 9, 1942, in Granite City, Illinois, to the late James Collins and Ruth Ann (Turnbull) Collins.
Phyllis was a devoted mother to her three sons: Tim, Brent, & Doug Pratt. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren: Jessica, Kassie, Douglas Jr., Jacob, Thomas, Lauren, Ian, Chelsea, Amanda, Melissa, Cody, and Catherine. Each of them carried a piece of her heart, and it was in their company that she found immense joy and comfort. Additionally, Phyllis took pride in being a grandmother to 16 great-grandchildren, who brightened her life in countless ways.
Phyllis will be remembered for her unwavering kindness and the deep love she had for her family. Her laughter was contagious to those around her, and her ability to listen without judgment made her a treasured friend. She often shared stories that captured the essence of family bonds, always reminding those she loved to cherish their time together.
She is survived by her son, Tim Pratt; her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mary & Kenny Sitton, and Shirley Trokey; and her sister-in-law, Jerry Collins; all who will carry her memory with them always. Phyllis is now reunited with her late husband, Stanley Pratt; and two sons: Brent Pratt and Doug Pratt; as well as, her sister Joyce Strange and her brother Robert Collins, who all preceded her in death. The bonds they shared, now rekindled, bring comfort to those who remain.
Friends and family are invited to honor Phyllis's legacy and celebrate her life on June 10, 2025. The day will begin with a visitation at DeClue Family Funeral Home in Potosi from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m., and a burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. The reflections and recollections of those who loved her will weave the fabric of loving remembrance during these difficult hours.
Phyllis Jean Pratt's light will shine on through the laughter of her grandchildren and the stories that will be passed down for generations. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, generosity, and love—a testament to a life well lived and a heart that touched so many.
