Norma Blanche Buxton, 98, of Potosi, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Potosi Manor. She was born on November 9, 1927, in Potosi, a daughter of the late Alonzo Kay and Hallie (Bouse) Kay.
Norma was a graduate of Potosi High School. Following graduation, she moved to St. Louis where she began her career in the stockyard industry as a bookkeeper. A few stockyards Norma worked for were National Stockyards, Potosi and Farmington Stockyards, and later with Proffer Produce, from which she retired. Norma was known throughout her life for her strong work ethic and dedication.
On September 2, 1950, Norma was united in marriage to Euell “Buck” Buxton in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Together they shared many meaningful years farming their land and tending to their cattle. In addition to farming, Norma enjoyed baking, watching game shows, and working crossword puzzles.
Norma is survived by her three grandchildren: Holli Hampton, Heidi Chance, and Holly Lewis; her four great-grandchildren: Nicholas McKinley Weiss, Hayden Rosener, Adam Seth Weiss, and Anna Paige Weiss; her brother, Robert “Bob” Kay; and her nieces and nephews: Susan Jackson; Donna and Jim English; Sharon and Mike Warren; Karen and Sonny Missey; and Michael and Suzanne Kay.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Euell “Buck” Buxton; her son, William “Butch” Buxton; daughter-in-law, Donna (Buxton) Burns; great-grandson, Clayton Rosener; her siblings: Alma and Burnham Richards, Lawrence Kay, and Harold Kay; sister-in-law, Laverna Kay; nephews: Matthew Kay, Roger Kay, and Jeff and Kathy Richards; and nieces: Doris and Robert Collins and Patti Barnett.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery, Doe Run, Missouri. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
