Neva June Stone

Neva June Stone of Potosi, Missouri, was born on April 14, 1934, in Ironton, Missouri, a daughter of the late Orin Luther Bowles and Leatha (Wade) Bowles. June passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023, surrounded by her family, at the age of 89.

In addition to June’s parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester "Stoney" Stone Sr. on June 3, 2015; son, Joey Gensler; daughter, Sharon June “Pinky” Carson; and many other dear relatives.

June is survived by five children: Lester F. Stone, Jr (wife, Belinda), Kevin D. Stone (wife, Karen), Sandra McCracken (husband, Junior), Rick Stone (wife, Rhonda) and Cathy Heaton (husband, Allen); fifteen grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; three siblings: Dean Bowles (wife, Kathy), Rose Sharon Thompson (husband, Rev. Alton) and Robin Smith (husband, Rev. Paul); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 10 am until the time of her Funeral Service at 12 pm at DeClue Funeral Home. Pastor Robert Thurman will officiate her service. Honoring June by serving as pallbearers will be: Kevin Stone, JR Stone, KJ Stone, Brandon Stone, Colton Skaggs, Nelson Skaggs and Willie Skaggs. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Gavin and Slade. Interment and final prayers will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
