Obituary

Nelda Ellen Lands, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her family, went to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the age of 94. Nelda was born on May 15, 1932, near Dick’s Creek, located off Highway P, a daughter of the late Dolphus Marler and Sally (Goodson) Marler.

On September 20, 1951, Nelda was united in Holy Matrimony to Warren “Snap” Lands. Together, they shared many years of love and family memories. Nelda attended Belgrade Pentecostal Church and had a deep love for the Lord and His Word. She especially enjoyed reading her Bible.

Nelda was known for her large collection of dolls and, most of all, for the love she showed through her cooking. She was an exceptional cook, and her biscuits and gravy, chicken and dumplings, fried chicken, and homemade pies were some of her family’s most requested dishes. Nelda never believed in cooking small meals—there was always plenty to go around. No one ever left her home hungry. She had a servant’s heart and found great joy in caring for and serving others.

Those who remain to treasure her memory include her two sons, Jimmy Lands and wife, Kim, and Dennis Lands and wife, Charlotte; seven grandchildren, Matthew Lands, Justin Lands, Miranda Wimberley, Dustin Lands and wife, Denise, LaShonda Creed and husband, Willis, Kristen Hoffman and husband, Jeremy, and Clinten Lands and wife, April; along with numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Nelda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Warren “Snap” Lands; infant daughter, Connie Sue Lands; daughter, Barbara Lands; grandsons, Ryan Lands and Kyle Lands; and eight siblings, Orville Silvey, Goldie Silvey Pelich, Merlin Silvey, Marie Obranovic, Donald Silvey, Wanda Russell, Veldon Marler, and Wilda Gensler.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Scott Cemetery in Belgrade, Missouri. Pastor Brad Asher and Pastor Sheldon Marler will be officiating.

Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
