Michael Allen “Mike” Morgan, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, September 19, 2024, having reached the age of 70 years. He was born on June 27, 1954, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, to the late Raymond and Evelyn (Miller) Morgan.
Mike was a devoted Christian who had an unwavering heart for Christ. He was a man who was nothing short of musically inclined; he could often be found using his gift alongside his wife, Lois. Together, they sang and played Southern Gospel in numerous churches across the area. His ministry, however, was not just inside the four walls of the church; he traveled to many places to sing and play Southern Gospel music. This love and gift for music led to many awards received from the Country and Gospel Music Association. In 2009, Mike and Lois won the Central USA Silver Heart Duo of the Year award, and again, they won this award in 2010. That same year, they also received the International Duo Award. When he wasn’t playing music, Mike could often be found outside simply enjoying God’s creation or tending to his vegetable garden. He also enjoyed lots of time in the kitchen cooking numerous dishes and baking he especially enjoyed making homemade dinner rolls. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
Mike leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Lois Morgan; sons Steven Greenwell and Jeff Greenwell; brother Ray Morgan (wife Judy); and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
In addition to Mike’s grandparents and parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Deborah Ziegler, and infant brother Rusty Morgan.
