Michael Lewis Fights, fondly known as Mike, passed away at the age of 71 on Friday, October 17, 2025, at his home in Terre du Lac, Missouri. He was born on March 31, 1954, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of the late Naomi (Gasper) Fights.

Mike dedicated an impressive 47 years to the glass industry, beginning shortly after high school with Ball Brothers Glass in Muncie. His career then took him to Missouri, where he worked for Flat River Glass for approximately 13 years, ultimately leading to his well-earned retirement.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mike was a man of many interests and passions. He had a deep love for astronomy and could often be found immersed in the wonders of the night sky. Music was another significant part of his life; he enjoyed playing the drums and frequently performed alongside his wife, Cydney, who played the piano. Mike also cherished classic films, often enjoying shows like Wagons East and Open Range. Most importantly, he held great joy in being with his family, particularly his grandchildren. Whether picking at them, sharing jokes, Mike embraced every moment spent with his loved ones making countless memories that will forever be cherished.

In his personal life, Mike's proudest accomplishment was uniting in marriage to Cydney Terese Haynes on February 23, 1974, in Fairmount, Indiana. Together, they forged a strong bond over 43 years until Cydney's passing on November 20, 2017. Mike is survived by his four children: Michael Fights II (wife, Beth), Matthew Fights (wife, Carrie), Mitchell Fights (wife, Diana), and Abbigayle Fights; and seven grandchildren: John, Emilee, Robert, Shelby, Adleigh, Simon, and Naomi; his sister, Terri Miller-Steele; brother, Carl Fights; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Haynes; sister-in-law, Tracy and Tom Mansfield; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to his mother and wife, Mike was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Hope Fights and many other dear relatives.

Mike will be deeply missed, remembered for his warmth and sense of humor. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Mike's. arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
