Michael D. Emily of Cadet, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, April 13, 2020, having reached the age of sixty-nine years, ten months, and twenty-three days. Mike was born on May 21, 1950 in Ironton, Missouri, a son of the late Albert Emily and the late Ruth (Wilcox) Emily.
On November 22, 1968, Mike was united in marriage to Shirley Neff and they shared fifty-one years together.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Emily; son, William Emily; three grandchildren: Lauren Immekus, Samantha Emily and Trinity Emily; one great grandchild, Liam Immekus; seven siblings: Pat Medley and husband Dennis, Phillip Emily, Tom Emily and wife Mary, Joan Cresswell, Beverly Pinckard and husband Donald, Kathy Conway and husband Pete, and Mandy Emily; In-Laws: Jimmie Neff, Albert Neff, Leroy Neff, Eugene Neff and wife Judy, and Catherine Kay; also surviving are many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends who will dearly miss him.
In addition to his father and mother, Mike was preceded in death by his son, Sam Emily; daughter, Angela Immekus; infant brother, James Emily; father/mother-in-law, Reynold and Mary Neff; sister-in-law, Gladys Neff; and brothers-in-law: Tom Jarvis, Russell Cresswell, and Junior Neff.
Graveside Visitation will be held Thursday, April 16, 2020 from 12 PM to 1 PM at Jarvis Cemetery, Mineral Point, MO.
A Graveside Service will immediately follow beginning at 1 PM with Pastor Robert Wade officiating.
** Floral arrangements will be received at the funeral home Thursday morning until 11 AM.
As we encourage the community to join the family in honoring the life of Mr. Emily, we urge everyone to follow the guidelines of our government and health officials regarding personal contact and attending gatherings. We know many will want to express their sympathy directly to the family, but all attendees shall remain in their vehicle the entire duration of the service.
