Michael Ray Bates of Potosi, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Washington County Memorial Hospital, having reached the age of fifty-one years, one month, and sixteen days. Mike was born on May 25, 1969 in Farmington, Missouri, a son of the late Donald Bates and the late Patsy (Benton) Bates.
Mike is survived by on daughter, Mallisa (John) Bone; son, Michael Layne (Kendra) Bates; step daughter, Elizabeth (Shawn) Anderson; three grandchildren: Elizabeth Barton, Dakota Bone, and Michael L. Bates, Jr.; two brothers: Terry Bates, Richard (Liz) Bates; sister, Donna (David) Pruitt; also surviving are extended family and dear friends.
In addition to his father and mother, Mike was preceded in death by one brother, James Bates and one sister, Janet Kimbrough.
A Graveside Visitation will be Tuesday, July 14, 2020 from 10 to 10:30 AM at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. A Graveside Service will immediately follow beginning at 10:30 AM.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
