Mary Ann Schroer of Potosi, Missouri, was born on March 7, 1937 in Belgrade, Missouri, a daughter to the late Louie and Alice (Pierce) Laramore. Mary Ann went to her heavenly home on Friday, July 15, 2022 having reached the age of 85 years, 4 months and 8 days. Mary Ann was united in marriage to her best friend and love of her life, Lester Edmond Schroer on April 3, 1954 and they shared 66 years together.
Mary Ann was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, sister and aunt. She loved her family and always put them first. Mary Ann was an incredible cook and would always make sure her family was fed. Often times, Mary Ann would cook a meal and deliver it to someone in need or to just be a blessing. Mary Ann also enjoyed quilting and was very talented at it. She was a member of Potosi Community Church and served the Lord with gladness. Her love for the Lord shown through to all those around her. Her laughter was contagious and her smile lit up the room. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Those who remain to treasure her memory include her four children: Debra (David) Miles, Joseph (Katherine) Schroer, Michael (Holly) Schroer, Nancy (Andy) Portell; eight grandchildren: Chris (Christi) Gaines, Ben (Erica) Gaines, Ryan (Erica) Schroer, Suzanne (Matt) Dennis, Dylan (Taylor) Portell, Hunter (Audrey) Schroer, Breanna (Tyler) Griffin, Devon (Briana) Schroer; sixteen great grandchildren: Chloe, Carter, Haven, Rebecca, Wyatt, Ian, Isaac, Lydia, Margaret, Eleanor, Abigail, Jase, Carleigh, Wendell, Vera and Anna; seven siblings: Sissy (Bud) Coy, George (Janet) Laramore, Donnie (Jody) Laramore, Raymond (Donna) Laramore, Erma (Jim) Harrelson, Elaine (Mike) O’Bryan, Phyllis (Bill) Long; two sisters-in-laws: June Laramore and Juanita Laramore. Mary Ann is also survived by many very special nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her father and mother, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lester E. Schroer on May 30, 2020; son, Lester Wayne Schroer; granddaughter, Amy Schroer; daughter-in-law, Christina Schroer; four siblings: Jimmy Laramore, Melba (Nunis) Jones, Glen "Sonny" Laramore, John Laramore; and nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many dear relatives and friends.
A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 10 AM to 2 PM at DeClue Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will immediately follow beginning at 2 PM on Tuesday in the DeClue Chapel. Pastor Bill Brammer will officiate, assisted by Pastor John Canterberry, Pastor Kevn Dekker. Interment and final prayers will be held at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
