Marty O’Neal Schrum, age 60, of Belgrade, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026. He was born on July 12, 1965, a son of the late Scottie Schrum and Ina Mae (Parks) Schrum.

Marty was a man who appreciated the simple things in life and found joy in the moments that mattered most. He loved being outdoors, especially spending time hunting and fishing. Marty was well known for his sense of humor and playful spirit. A true prankster at heart, he was always trying to make others laugh and enjoyed sharing smiles wherever he went. He believed in living life fully and making the most of every day.

A hardworking and dedicated provider, Marty spent many years laboring in the concrete industry alongside his brothers. He took pride in his work and was respected for his talent and determination. In recent years, he also enjoyed spending time at the casino, pressing his luck and enjoying life whenever he had the chance.

More than anything else, Marty loved his family deeply. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world, and the time he spent with them meant everything to him.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his son, Joshua Masters; his five daughters: Samantha Waldrop, Lizabeth Smith, Katlyn Hendrix, Kristen Umfleet, and Madeline Carmack; fourteen beloved grandchildren; three brothers: Dennis Schrum & Pam, Adam Schrum & Sharon, and Christopher Schrum & Britney; four sisters: Donna Alvers, Lois Land & Lindell, Kim Walton & Tim, and Cassie Browers & Chad; along with many dear nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Marty was preceded in death by his brother, Victor Schrum, and his infant brother, Hurlin Eugene Schrum.

Visitation for Marty will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at DeClue Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Friday, May 29, 2026, beginning at 9:30 am, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am in the DeClue Memorial Chapel. Interment and final prayers will follow at Schrum Family Cemetery on Province Road in Belgrade, Missouri.
