Mark David Griffin, born on May 28, 1961, in Dexter, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the age of 64. He was a beloved son of the late Lowan Griffin and Joyce (Ezell) Griffin.
Mark graduated from Potosi High School in the class of 1979. He dedicated many years to working as an iron worker with Iron Workers Local 396 of St. Louis, where he ultimately retired. Mark lived a simple life and found peace in the tranquility of the country where he resided. In his younger years, Mark enjoyed hunting and fishing, though in recent times, his passion had shifted primarily to fishing.
Mark leaves behind two sons, Caleb Griffin and Tyler (Breanna) Griffin. Mark was also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Jaiden (Wyatt) Bust, Ella Griffin, Garrett (Kirstin) Ciskowski, and Anna Griffin. Additionally, he is survived by five great grandchildren: Jagger, Maverick, Holden, Kimber, and Kashton; his three siblings: Tijuanna "Tootie" (John) Sifford, Roland "Bub" Griffin, and William (Sheila) Griffin, as well as his nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his father and mother, Mark was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Kelly Griffin.
Family and friends are invited to honor Mark during a time of Visitation held on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Pastor Bill Brammer will be officiating. Mark will be laid to rest by his parents in the Armstead Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter, Missouri at 3:30 pm. Mark David Griffin will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
