Lulu Brenda Daugherty of Potosi, Missouri, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 4, 2024 surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born on November 2, 1958 in Ironton, Missouri, a daughter to the late Joseph Walton and Vivian (Compton) Walton. Lulu married the love of her life, James “Jim” Daugherty on May 15, 1993 and they shared thirty-one years of life and love together.
Those who remain to treasure her memory include her husband, Jim Daugherty; her son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Bekah Aubuchon; her grandson, Liam Aubuchon; siblings: Linda Walton, Tim and Kim Walton; sisters-in-law: Candy Walton and Connie Walton; great niece, Myla Blair whom she adored; and her beloved dog, Lucy. Lulu also leaves behind many additional special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
In addition to her father and mother, Lulu was preceded in death by three brothers: Dan, John, and Terry Walton; two nephews: Bryan Walton and Michael Walton; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Regis and Christine Daugherty.
Lulu had a heart of gold. She had a genuine smile and laugh which was contagious and she would light up any room she walked into with her presence. Her world revolved around her son, Brandon, her grandson, Liam, and her husband, Jim; they meant everything to her.
Lulu was a graduate of Valley High School, Class of 1976. She worked for 30 plus years for Brown Shoe Company and Redwing in Potosi. Lulu was a hard worker and was very devoted to anything she set her mind to. If you were around Lulu long enough, you might hear her say a few of her favorite phrases, which include: “Grammy Loves”, “Treat others the way you would want to be treated”, and “Have Faith”. Lulu never met a stranger. She loved spoiling her grandson, nieces, and nephews. She loved them with all of her heart and would do anything for them or anyone else. To know her was to love her. This world could use more Lulu’s. She will be remembered for the beautiful person she was.
