Helena Lucille Lawson, a Devoted Wife, Mom and Nana, was born on October 13, 1947 in Ithica, New York. A daughter to the late Wray Orman and the late Elizabeth (Huff) Orman. Lucille passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the age of 76. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Lawson; daughter, Elizabeth Lawson; and two sisters: Esther and Aleatha.
On October 12, 1968, Lucille was tied in marriage to Jimmie Roy Lawson and they shared fifty years of life and love together. Lucille enjoyed life. She was a classy lady and always looked beautiful. She never failed to have her nails manicured and painted. Lucille also had a great collection of beautiful jewelry. Her family was her world. She cherished every moment that she was blessed to spend with them. Lucille also loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She attended Potosi Full Gospel Church for many years. She enjoyed reading her Bible, coloring and playing solitaire. Lucille was loving, caring and selfless. She will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Those who remain to treasure her memory include her four children: Jimmie Lawson II and Rustie, Jessica Lawson and Joe Prosabumi, Ellen (Andy) Ford, and Brenda (Giaco) Kolafa; eight grandchildren: Jasmine, Elias, Lucas, Lucy, Conrad, Oliver, Lynz, and Alexander; two great grandchildren: Amara and Zion; two siblings: Kathy (Mike) Morehouse and Eugene Orman. Lucille is also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 10:30 am until the time of her Funeral Service at 1 pm, held at DeClue Funeral Home. Pastor Dave Skaggs will officiate her service. Interment and final prayers will be held at Lawson Family Cemetery, Cadet, Missouri. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
