It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Lindsey Marie Basler, who passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the age of 37.

Lindsey was born on October 26, 1988 in St. Louis, Missouri, to James L. Basler and Leonore C. (Aguilar) Basler.

Lindsey was full of life, love, and joy. She had a wonderful artistic talent and found great happiness in coloring and creating beautiful pictures. She was fun-loving and found joy in some of the simplest things, including playing Pokémon, building with LEGOs, slime, and enjoying Harry Potter books and movies. Lindsey also had a deep love for her many cats, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Lindsey was a graduate of Potosi High School, Class of 2007. Throughout the years, she worked in various jobs before finding her calling working with the residents at Citadel Living Center. Lindsey loved the residents, and they loved her just as much. Her giving heart knew no bounds, and she was always willing to help anyone in need.

Above all, Lindsey loved her family dearly and treasured the time she spent with them. She was bubbly, kind, and had a beautiful smile. Her warmth, compassion, and love for others touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness and beautiful spirit will be forever remembered and deeply missed.

Lindsey leaves behind her loving parents, Jim and Lenni Basler; her little sister and best friend, Amelia Basler; her two beloved nieces, Ava and Zarah, who lovingly knew her as “Nini”; her aunt and uncle, Vickie and Dan Kopf; and her cousins, Ryan (Sarah) Kopf and Tyler Kopf.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Randy Akers, Judy Hawkins, and Richard Basler.

There will be no formal services held at this time. Once a date has been determined, details will be posted.
