Linda Sue Griffin

March 1, 1950 — May 13, 2025

Linda Sue Griffin, born on March 1, 1950, in Mineral Point, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family in her cherished home. A devoted wife, mom, maw maw, sister, and friend, Linda's life was a testament to selflessness and love.

Linda graduated from Potosi High School in 1968, where she first met the love of her life, Larry Griffin. They married on April 6, 1968 at Big River Church, just before Larry was drafted into the military. Together, Linda and Larry made 57 years of unforgettable memories, particularly during their many camping trips to Wappapello. They tended to a great garden, where Linda would often can the vegetables.

A true illustration of hospitality, Linda had an incomparable talent for bringing people together. Her home was always filled with warmth and laughter, and no guest ever left without a plate of food or a heartfelt hug and kiss. Linda had a particular knack for cooking, delighting her family with dishes that became favorites over the years, including her famous chicken and dumplings, stuffing, German chocolate cake, fudge, and the delightful Christmas candy that graced many holiday tables.

Linda's family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her beloved husband, Larry Griffin; her two children: Larry (Tracy) Griffin Jr. and Leanna (Billy) Luther; seven grandchildren who brightened her days: Colton (Tiffani) Griffin, Cheyennea (Austin) Pratt, Bethany (Matt) Hill, Jordan (Austin) Rabi, Jodee Luther, Brandon (Jessica) Uhl, and Zach (Nicole) Bertel; nine great grandchildren; four siblings: Joyce Zettler, Bob (Jeanie) Marler, Roger (Sandy) Marler, and Rhonda (Dan) Canter. Linda also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Vernon Griffin, as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Robert and Naomi (Henderson) Marler; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Walter and Hazel Louis Griffin; brother-in-law, John Zettler and many other beloved relatives.

Linda’s legacy is one defined by her unwavering devotion to her family and the many lives she touched with her kindness and generosity. She was a loving woman who always put others first, leaving a mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
