Leroy Brown, a dedicated servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 17, 1952, in DeSoto, Missouri, Leroy was the son of Julius S. Brown and Ruby (Harper) Brown.
Leroy held a fruitful career in the auto industry, having retired from Chrysler after 30 years of service. His dedication to work extended beyond Chrysler, as he also spent several years serving as a door greeter at Walmart, where he embraced every opportunity to engage with others.
A true man of faith, Leroy had a profound impact through his ministry. He pastored many churches through the years including Happy Grove Church of God and Parma Church of God, as well as serving in various ministerial capacities for 42 years. He enjoyed attending camp meetings and revivals. Leroy was proud to have become an Ordained Bishop within the Church of God in 2004. Leroy's love for the Lord was evident in all aspects of his life; he could often be found reading the Bible and sharing the gospel with those around him. His passion for music led him to sing in several gospel groups singing and playing guitar, further enriching the lives of many with his God given talent.
Leroy is survived by his loving and devoted wife of nearly 50 years, Faye Brown. Leroy's family was a source of great pride, and he leaves behind three children: Deanna Morris, Robert (Kim) Missey, and Darrin (Jessica) Brown. His legacy continues with eight grandchildren: Holly (Waylon) Gonz, Alex (Hannah) Gallagher, Evan Brown, Mylee-Joy Brown, Grayson Brown, Tommy Missey, Brendon Missey, and Samantha Jamerson, as well as two great-grandchildren, Addison and Parker Grace.
Leroy is also survived by his siblings: Julius E. "Dude" Brown (Diane), Kenny Brown (Carla), Pauline Harrison (Paul), Leona Skaggs (Raymond), Ruby Brown, and Ricky Brown (Judy). He cherished his relationships with his sisters-in-law, Sally Bess, Shelby King, and Janet Brown, along with his brother-in-law, D'wayne Skaggs, and his special niece, Michelle (Cory) Politte; as well as many additional nieces, nephews, and church family.
In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ronald Morris; three brothers: Alvin Brown, Daniel Brown, and Bobby Brown; father-in-law, George Skaggs; and mother-in-law: Kathryn Skaggs and Henrietta Skaggs. He was also preceded by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bob Benson, Leonard Bess, Mike King, Julie Skaggs, Joan Brown, and Carol Brown.
