Laurie Lynn Hanson

Laurie Lynn (VanCleve) Hanson, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 0005. She was born on May 15, 1964, in Waukegan, Illinois.

Laurie had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs, Kahly and Nyla. In years past, she thoroughly enjoyed taking motorcycle rides. She had a remarkable talent for gardening, nurturing both vegetables and flowers with her green thumb. Additionally, she was known for her cooking skills and often delighted her family and friends with her culinary creations. Laurie was a unique lady, marked by her stubbornness and sassiness, but always showed love and helpfulness to those around her.

She worked for nine years at Hoots Gas Station, where she was remembered fondly by her coworkers and customers alike. Above all, Laurie cherished her children and grandchildren, who filled her life with joy.

Laurie is survived by her daughter, Katie Mayo, and her husband Mark; her son, Shaun Relken, and his wife Crystal; and her beloved grandchildren: Chyenne, J'naya, Jayln, Kamron, Amiyah, Cassidy, and Sawyer, along with four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Phyllis VanCleve, Marshall VanCleve and his wife Anja, and Teresa Lowery; her special cousin, Connie Smith and her husband Phillip; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

She is preceded in passing by her parents, Joel and Beatrice (Bowen) VanCleve; son, Robert William "Robbie" Relken Jr.; and siblings Joel E. VanCleve and Angella Barczykowski 

Laurie's legacy will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the pleasure of crossing her path.

No services will be held. Arrangments were under the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
