Katlyn Bree Emily

It is with heavy hearts that we remember and celebrate the life of Katlyn Bree Emily, a radiant girl who graced this world with her sweetness and sass. Born on June 28, 2018, Katlyn brought joy to everyone around her. Katlyn met Heaven's embrace on Monday, May 19, 2025. At just six years old, she exhibited a vibrant personality that left a giant mark on all who knew her.

Katlyn was a delightful child whose laughter could fill a room and whose love for her family was boundless. She was a first grader at Kingston K-14 School. Her playful spirit was evident in her love of dancing and playing dress-up, delighting in all things girly that brought her joy. From tie-dye creations to her adoration of pink and purple, every facet of Katlyn's life embodied her bright personality. She often watched movies like “My Perfect Landing” and “Unicorn Academy.”

To be so small, she was known for her impressive appetite. Katlyn loved apple cinnamon oatmeal, shrimp, pizza, and tacos. Memories of her love for snacking will warm the hearts of those who shared meals with her, as they recall the joy she took in every bite.

Katlyn's family meant the world to her; she loved them deeply. She is survived by her dad, Cory Emily (Jozlyn Sansoucie), and her mom, Sierra Gillmore (Tyler Rains); three siblings, Hayden, Sophia, and Carter; her grandparents, Donnie Gillmore and Dawn Danner, Jennifer Volkert, Christopher and Laura Emily, Jason and Debbie Sansoucie, as well as her great-grandparents, Lela and Gene Hedgcorth and Vickey Sansoucie; aunts and uncles—Brent and Heidi Anderson, Ashley Gillmore, Crystal Rains, Kristina Emily, Charlene Hedrick, Wendy Benton, Nick Emily, Kaylee Coleman, and Wyatt Smith. Additionally, Katlyn leaves behind many school friends and cousins who shared in her joyful adventures. She is preceded in death by her beloved uncle, Caleb Thompson, along with other dear relatives.

Katlyn's visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM at the DeClue Funeral Home in Potosi, MO, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM the same day. These moments will allow family and friends to gather and share stories of a remarkable young soul whose time with us was far too brief.

In celebrating Katlyn Bree Emily, we honor a sweet yet sassy girl who filled our lives with love, laughter, and light. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
