Jo Jeanne Gray

June 13, 1935 — July 7, 2023

Jo Jeanne Gray of Desloge, Missouri, was born June 13, 1935 in Pumpkin Center, Oklahoma as one of three children to the late Thurman Coker and Mildred (Green) Coker. Jo Jeanne grew up in Miami, Oklahoma, where she attended school and graduated with the class of 1953. Shortly after graduating, Jo Jeanne met the love of her life, John Gray, during the summer of 1955. After dating for nearly a year, Jo Jeanne and John married on June 29, 1956 at First Baptist Church of Miami. After moving to Missouri in 2000, Jo Jeanne and John attended Park Hills United Methodist Church. While attending there she volunteered for the Attic Treasures program and was active in her Sunday School class known as the busy bee class. Jo Jeanne enjoyed reading and solving cross word puzzles. She always looked forward to her annual trips to Deer River, Minnesota with John. Together, they enjoyed spending time with one another and fishing. In addition, Jo Jeanne and John also enjoyed their trips to Branson and going to Silver Dollar City. Jo Jeanne’s family takes comfort in knowing that she is at rest and is united with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jo Jeanne went to her Heavenly home on Friday evening, July 7, 2023 surrounded by her family at the age of 88.

Those who remain to treasure her memory include her devoted husband, John Gray; son, David Gray (wife, Karen); two grandchildren: Katie Tiefenauer (husband, Caleb) and Emilee Mullen (husband, Kody); three great grandchildren: Oakley, Madilyn, and Hadley; nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Jo Jeanne was preceded in death by two siblings: Priscilla Kirk and Ronald Coker.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 9:30 am until the time of her Funeral Service at 11 am, held at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, MO 63664. Interment will follow in Redbud Memorial Gardens. DeClue Funeral Home was honored to have served and ministered to the family of Mrs. Jo Jeanne Gray.
