Jeffery Lynn Blount Jr.

Jeffery Lynn Blount Jr., affectionately known as JJ, was born on February 24, 1985, in Potosi, Missouri. JJ passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the age of 40. JJ brought joy and warmth to those around him, living a life characterized by kindness and a genuine love for helping others.

JJ grew up in Potosi, where he attended school and proudly graduated with the class of 2003. From a young age, he had an extraordinary ability to connect with people; in fact, JJ never met a stranger. His caring nature extended to his professional life, where he was currently employed with Hope@Home, an in-home care service dedicated to assisting individuals in need. He cherished his clients and looked forward to providing them support and companionship.

A man of many interests, JJ found joy in a variety of hobbies including antiquing, shopping, garage sales, and road riding with friends. He was known for his impeccable sense of style, often wearing nice clothes, complemented by his watches and delightful cologne. JJ's bubbly personality and radiant smile left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

Family was especially important to JJ. He held a deep affection for his nieces and nephews, finding great joy in their lives. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Lisa and Bobby Pashia; his brother Joseph Blount and his wife, Kate; his beloved nieces and nephews, Zane, Colton, Adelyn, and Bennett Blount; as well as his step-grandparents, Norman Stovall and Dorothy Pashia. Additionally, he leaves behind step-siblings Jarah and Dominic Lemons, Caleb and Audree Cunningham, Jamie and Faith Brakefield, Tyler and Arlee Ochs, and Bea Pashia. He also is survived by step-nieces and nephews Carly, Stella, Evan, Pippa, Arres, and Stone; special aunts and uncles Theresa and Phillip Elsey, Dennis and Tabitha Blount, Donna Blount, David Cash, and Larry Cash, as well as cousins Brody & Audra Elsey, Lauren & Dre Lee, Jody Cash, DJ and Kim Blount; his step-aunts and uncles Donna and John Robart, Ronnie and Ellen Pashia, Billy and Beth Pashia, Brenda West and friend Mike Thebeau, and Linda and Doug Haguewood.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jeffery Lynn Blount Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Donald and Lelia Blount; his maternal grandparents, Bobby and Sharon Cash, and Junior Cantrell; his step-grandfather, Oscar Bob Pashia; and his cousin, Nick Melton.

JJ loved the Lord, and his legacy of compassion and service to others will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held at DeClue Funeral Home in Potosi, Missouri, on Thursday evening, September 4, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service to celebrate JJ's life at 7:00 PM. The family invites all who knew and loved JJ to join them in honoring his memory. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
