Janet Lee Lewis passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in Farmington, Missouri at the age of 86. She was born on July 8, 1938, in Washington County, Missouri, to the late Harry Jenkins and Mildred (Griffin) Jenkins.
Janet loved tending to her flower garden and painting. She enjoyed taking long road trips with her husband, Donald Lewis. They were united in marriage on February 7, 1981, and shared thirty-three wonderful years together before his passing. Janet was a member of Hazel Creek First Church of God in Belgrade for many years.
Music was a significant part of her life; she found joy in listening to southern gospel, particularly the Booth Brothers and Jimmie Fortune. In her downtime, she loved watching Alaskan Bush People, the Dr. Pol Vet show, and Hallmark Christmas movies. In her later years, Janet resided at Presbyterian Manor in Farmington, where she made some wonderful friendships.
Janet is survived by her son, Joe Goforth and Kristina Bradley; her daughter, Deb Goforth; three grandchildren: Patrick Lewis, Kilea Lewis, and Derek Thomas-Goforth; two great-grandchildren: Alise and Everett; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mildred Jenkins; her husband, Don Lewis; her son, Scott Lewis; and her two sisters, Dorine Gallaher and Joyce Cash.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at DeClue Funeral Home in Potosi, Missouri, starting at 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Interment and final prayers will be held at the Akers Cemetery in Belgrade. DeClue Funeral Home is honored to have been entrusted with Janet's funeral arrangements.
