Obituary

Glenda Sue Drennen of Park Hills, Missouri, formerly of Potosi, departed this life on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Country Meadows Nursing Home, having reached the age of 76.

Glenda was born on May 4, 1950, in “Blount Town,” located just outside Potosi along Highway E, a daughter of the late Curtis Vance and Marie (Myers) Vance Edgar. Glenda was a woman who loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren, and she will be remembered for her determination, independence, sense of humor, and ability to always have a good time.

Glenda suffered a stroke at a young age, but she was determined not to let her illness define her. With great strength and perseverance, she worked to overcome the challenges she faced and maintained her independence for as long as she could. She faced life with determination and a strong will that those who knew her will always remember.

Glenda loved getting dressed up and going out to enjoy a nice dinner. She especially enjoyed decorating and dressing up for the holidays, and she never disappointed when it came to her outfits. Her distinctive laughter was one of the things that made her so recognizable and will be a cherished memory.

She enjoyed collecting porcelain pigs, angels, and Betty Boop figurines and pictures, and most recently developed a love for flamingos. Glenda also enjoyed watching episodes of Cops, The Golden Girls, the Lifetime Channel, The Price Is Right, and other game shows. She simply loved having a good time and making memories with the people around her.

Glenda was also a wonderful cook and was especially known for making the best fried chicken. She enjoyed baking cookies and making candy for the holidays, creating sweet treats that became part of the memories shared with her family.

In addition to Glenda's parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Edmond Edgar; two sons, Patrick Drennen and Mark “Woody” Drennen; two granddaughters, Morgan Coleman and Lauren Coleman; two brothers, Robert Vance and Randy Vance; stepbrothers, Danny Edgar and Greg Edgar; paternal grandparents, John and Mildred Vance; and maternal grandparents, Marvin and Lucille Myers.

Those who remain to treasure Glenda’s memory include her daughter, Wendy Drennen (Steve Villmer); her eight grandchildren, Railean King (Justin), Andrea Underwood (Justin), Jason Drennen, Katelyn Brailsford (Kaleb), Nikaelyn Coleman, Rachael Lapp, Marcus Clinton, and Cassie Wood; and seventeen great-grandchildren, Jacob, Triston, Gavin, Brooklyn, Layton, Arya, Theodore, Claire, Theodore, Jaxson, Logan, Krislynn, Kolton, Owen, Paxton, Declan, and Avery.

Glenda is also survived by her step-mother, Frances Vance; three siblings, Sherry Vance, Jerry Vance (Paula), and Tina Eckhoff (Kevin); four step-siblings, Mike Vance (Ginger), Steven Vance, Pam Brann, and Cindy Edgar; daughter-in-law, Sandy Drennen; her former husband and father of her children, Floyd Terry Drennen; as well as nieces, nephews, and other dear family members and friends.
