Gary Matthew Waller, affectionately known by his family and friends as Matt, was born on March 22, 1977, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the son of Garrie J. Waller and the late Roxanne (Boyer) Waller.

Matt grew up in Belgrade, where he attended Valley School and graduated with the Class of 1995. On October 10, 1998, he married the love of his life, Kerie Ann Sansoucie, at Belgrade Methodist Church.

Matt was athletic throughout his school years and enjoyed playing basketball. His love for sports continued into adulthood as he taught his children how to play basketball and coached AAU. He loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also had a passion for eagle scouting and loved watching them soar through the sky.

Matt enjoyed many hobbies, including collecting coins of all sorts, antiquing, researching his family heritage, and swimming. He was known to have a green thumb, taking great pride in growing a bountiful vegetable garden and an assortment of beautiful flowers.

Above all, Matt loved his family with all of his heart. He was especially proud to be a Pawpaw to Anna and James, who brought him so much joy and fulfillment. Matt was a two-time cancer survivor, with Kerie by his side every step of the way.

Those who remain to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife, Kerie Waller; his three children, Kohen (Abi) Waller, Dalton (Taylor) Waller, and Aliyah Waller; his two grandchildren, Anna and James Waller; his father, Garrie Waller; his sister, Angie (Doug) Fadness; father-in-law, Mike Sansoucie; brother-in-law, Mike Sansoucie; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Matt was preceded in death by his mother, Roxanne Waller; stepmother, Connie Waller; paternal grandparents, William and Ruby Waller; and maternal grandparents, Larry and Erma Hudson.

Visitation for Matt will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 12:00 PM and continue until the time of his funeral service at 2:00 PM held at the DeClue Chapel. Doug Fadness will officiate the services.

Interment and final prayers will be held at Jenkins Cemetery in Belgrade.
