Dorothy "Cissy" Hopping

Dorothy Paulette Hopping, also known by family and friends as “Cissy”, of Potosi, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 having reached the age of fifty-five years, eight months and sixteen days. Cissy was born on November 2, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri, a daughter of the late Pat Lawson and the late Dorothy (Douglas) Lawson.

On September 2, 1994, Cissy was united in marriage to David L. Hopping and they shared nearly twenty-five years together.

Survivors include her husband, David L. Hopping; sons, Cody (Melanie) Lawson, Xander Allen; daughter, Melissa Strickland; four grandchildren: Kailey Gayler, Garrett Lawson, Jesse Fisk and Sierra Fisk; siblings: Pauline Breier, Michael (Sharon) Lawson, Monroe (Betty) Lawson, Lisa (Greg) Novelly, Margaux Lawson, Shauna Williams Atwood, Shannon Williams, Clifford Williams, Richard Binkley and Aaron Binkley; also surviving are nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father and mother, Cissy was preceded in death by her son, Leslie DeWayne Strickland; three sisters: Janice Williams, Patty Lawson and Beverly Lawson; three brothers: Pat Lawson, Jr., Paul Lawson and Bert Williams.

Visitation will be Monday, July 22, 2019 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 1 PM held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating.
