Arbadella Sue Keith, affectionately known by her family and friends as “Della,” was born on December 8, 1945, in Oats, Missouri, one of seven children born to the late Raymond Mathes and Norah (Barton) Mathes. Della went to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, November 5, 2026, surrounded by her family.
On September 10, 1961, Della was united in marriage to Raymond “Babe” Keith, and they shared 58 years together. Following their marriage, they made their home on the family farm in Redmondville, Missouri, where they built their life together. Throughout the years, Della and Babe enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and spending time together.
Della treasured time with her family, especially Sunday dinners, which were a favorite highlight of the weekend. She often said, “If you feed them, they will come.” Her kitchen was known for many delicious dishes and desserts, particularly her famous cinnamon rolls and homemade yeast rolls. She also enjoyed playing games with her family and was a talented quilter, stitching many quilt blocks throughout the years.
Above all, Della was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus and faithfully served Him. She was a member of Mount Pleasant United Baptist Church and enjoyed sharing her testimony with others. Known for her selfless nature, Della gave freely of herself without seeking recognition. She was a caretaker to her family and many others, always willing to lend a helping hand.
Della's example of faith, generosity, and devotion to family will remain a lasting part of her legacy. As Proverbs 31 so beautifully reminds us, “Her children rise up and call her blessed.”
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her three daughters: Landra Latham and husband Jeff, Pamela Tiefenauer and husband Joe, and Angela Gibbs and husband Deron; eight grandchildren: Brian Meier, Tiffany Fare and husband Mike, Crystal Tiefenauer, Caleb Tiefenauer and wife Katie, Tawny Asher, Leah Conaway and husband Jordan, Anna Stinson and husband Eli, and Clara Gibbs; great-grandchildren: Madeline and husband Kyler, Riley, Levi and wife Emily, Logan, Shelby, Ethan, KJ, Chloe, Oakley, Hadley, Sadie, Lincoln, and Ivy; one great-great-grandchild, Callahan; three brothers: Vernon Mathes, Garry Mathes and wife Reva, and Wendel Mathes and wife Delores; sister-in-law, Linda Civey; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Della was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond “Babe” Keith; three siblings: Helen Latham, Alma Miller, and Ronnie Mathes; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thurber and Sylvia Jean Keith; and many other dear relatives.
*In lieu of flowers, per Dells's request, memorial contributions, if desired, be made to the Keith Family Cemetery. Memorial envelopes will be available at her service.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. and continuing until the time of her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., all at Mount Pleasant United Baptist Church. Pastor Adam Asher will officiate, assisted by Pastor Garry Mathes. Interment and final prayers will follow at the Keith Family Cemetery.
