Darrell Jeffrey Wilkinson, born on September 23, 1989, in Farmington, Missouri, departed this life unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the age of 35. A beloved son to Shelbie (O'Neail) Wilkinson and the late Norman Wilkinson, he leaves behind a memory marked by his creative spirit and joyous character.
Darrell's artistic talents were boundless, showcasing a remarkable ability in various forms of art, from drawing characters such as those from Dragon Ball Z to crafting his own self-portraits. His passion for drawing was matched only by his love for family, which he cherished dearly. Family gatherings were a source of joy for Darrell, where he brought laughter and warmth with his great sense of humor.
He is remembered fondly by his mother and stepfather, Shelbie Wilkinson and Bill Kohlenberger, along with his grandmother, Dorothy Wilkinson. Darrell's family also includes six siblings: Robert (April) Wilkinson, Gabriel Wilkinson and Rose Skaggs, Daniel (Megan) Smith, Nadine (Daniel) Cox, Missy (Charles McAllister) Borden, and Joshua Smith. He shared a special bond with his extended family, including aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, who hold him dearly in their hearts.
Darrell was known for his love of fishing, a pastime that brought him peace and joy. His big heart touched everyone he met, leaving a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Norman Wilkinson, and his paternal grandparents, Adolph Wilkinson, as well as his maternal grandparents, Daniel O'Neail, Juanita and Eddie Horton. Darrell's legacy of love, laughter, and artistic brilliance will live on through the memories of those who cherish him.
Darrell will be honored with a memorial service on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM, to be held at Grace Point Pentecostal Church located at 3435 Rosener Road, Park Hills, MO 63601. The service will provide family and friends the opportunity to celebrate his life and the happiness he brought to their lives.
