Clarence Allen Tate

January 26, 1955 — August 5, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clarence Allen Tate, who passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the age of 70. Clarence was born on January 26, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri. Known affectionately by his family as “Pop,” he lived a life rooted in love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Clarence spent many years behind the wheel of a big rig, traveling countless miles to provide for his family. His dedication to his work was unmatched, but it was his generosity and kind heart that left the greatest impact on everyone who knew him.

Pop had a natural gift for fixing things — whether it was an engine, a household project, or offering a listening ear and advice to someone in need. He could often be found in his garage, happily surrounded by the tools he had collected from his favorite pastime of going to yard sales and bargain hunting.

Outside of work, Clarence found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved camping, hunting, and spending time outdoors, as well as sharing stories and laughter with friends and family. He cherished every moment spent “shooting the breeze” with anyone who pulled up a chair.

Above all, Clarence’s greatest pride was his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and great-grandfather. He showed his love not just in words, but through countless acts of kindness and quiet sacrifices.

Clarence’s memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Nina Tate; his children: Allen Tate, Lana Tate (Michael), Savannah Parker (Jaron), and Hannah Griffin (Melvin); 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Mark Tate. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a large circle of extended family and friends whose lives were touched by his love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Tate Sr. and Gladys (Saadle) Tate; his siblings, Samuel Tate Jr., Theresa Jones (Preston), Frances Rawl, and James Tate; and his grandchild, Baby Lee.

Clarence’s legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services held.

Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
