Cathy Jean Counts of Mineral Point, Missouri, was born on October 26, 1954, in St Louis, Missouri, a daughter of the late Euel & Dorothy (Gunn) Thomas. Cathy passed away on February 14, 2023, having reached the age of 68.
Those who remain to cherish her memory include her husband, Billy Wood; children: Lesley Counts (Tammy), Wesley Counts, Steven Gale (wife, Brandi), Lonnie Gale (wife, Jennifer), Chasity Gale; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: Randy Thomas (wife, Marilyn), David Thomas (wife, Lisa); Mother-in-law, Mary Kempf; sisters-in-law: Ann Purcell (husband, Terry), Patty Lutes (husband, JR); brothers-in-law, Tom Wood (Wife, Teresa); also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Euel & Dorothy Thomas, Cathy was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Counts; brother-in-law, Ricky Oranchak; and niece, Emma Oranchak.
Cathy loved to attend country music concerts, especially Luke Bryan. She loved the outdoors—going to the river and swimming. Working as a nurse was a passion of hers.
The family will hold a private memorial service to honor Cathy.
