Carolyn Jane Britton, lovingly known as Janey, peacefully passed away at her home in Caledonia, Missouri on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the age of 77. She was born on July 7, 1947, to the late Ivan and Dorothy (Turner) Jinkerson. Throughout her life, Janey was a beacon of love and care, dedicating herself to her family and friends.
Janey married Marvin Britton on May 15, 1965, and together they shared an extraordinary journey of 60 years filled with love and companionship. Her devotion to her husband was unwavering, as she consistently put others before herself, always ensuring that Marvin and her family were well taken care of. Janey was an exceptional cook, well-known for her delicious fried potatoes and fried chicken and many other desired dishes.
Her grandchildren fondly remember her with smiles, often recounting memories of her singing classic songs by George Jones during joyful drives down the highway. Janey had a remarkable way of creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
In years past, Janey attended Caledonia Assembly of God. Additionally, she found great joy in fishing trips to Kentucky with Marvin. Her adventurous spirit also led her to hunting trips in Bowling Green, Missouri, where she enjoyed the great outdoors.
Janey is survived by her beloved husband, Marvin Britton; three children, Susie (Lawrence) Henson, Robbie (Rosie) Britton, and Dawn (Jon) May; fourteen grandchildren: Rachel, Jennifer, Stephen, Joshua, Dustin, Alissa, Misty, Leslie, Preston, Payton, Linsey, Josh, Logan, and Emily; and a host of great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three sisters, Mildred Fryman, Pat Masson, and Glenda (Chuck) Smith; along with nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
Janey was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Dorothy Jinkerson; her grandson, Chris Samuels; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Junior Britton, Leonard Britton, Michael Britton, Ruth Crow, Hazel Boulch, Cleo Britton, Earl Britton, and Delphi Boulch.
Janey Britton will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her kind spirit and generous heart touched the lives of many and her legacy will forever endure in the memories of those she loved. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
