Beaufard Monroe Breakfield was born in Shirley, Missouri on March 5, 1937, a son to the late Freddie Breakfield and the late Almeda Jane (Hollinsworth) Breakfield. Beaufard went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 15, 2021 having reached the age of 84 years, 1 month, and 10 days.
On October 6, 1962, Beaufard was united in marriage to Betty Lou Hulsey in Leadwood, Missouri and they were blessed with 58 years and 3 children to this union.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife, Betty Breakfield; three children: Dennis “Dink” Breakfield (wife, Paula), Sandra Buford (husband, Harold), and Roger Breakfield (wife, Michele); grandchildren: Jason Breakfield (wife, Brandi), Brandon Breakfield, Kayla (Breakfield) Chapman, Ashley Hartley (husband, John), Cammie Buford, Zachary Breakfield, Kennedy Breakfield and Fiancé Ethan Nipper, Joshua Melton, and Derick Chapman; great grandchildren: Riston Breakfield, Jaylee Breakfield, Braxton Breakfield, Caedon Lowry, Jadyn Lowry, Raleigh Lowry, and Kaleb Chapman; siblings: Mildred Campbell, Vivian Ledbetter (husband, Charles), David Breakfield (wife, Mary), Darrell Breakfield (wife, Baby); In-Laws: Bessie Breakfield, Margaret Breakfield, Brenda and Claude Berry, Vickie and Bill Horton, Norma Ruth Hulsey, and Annette Pinson.
In addition to his father and mother, Beaufard was preceded in death by four brothers: Eddie Breakfield, Virgil Breakfield, James Russell Breakfield, and Montie Carl Breakfield Sr.; In-Laws: Ruth Ann Breakfield, Thomas Campbell, Mike Pinson, and Carolyn Sue Kite.
Beaufard was a devoted member of Grassy Hollow Baptist Church since approximately 1957. Through the years, he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, treasurer, served on the cemetery board and served as caretaker. In addition, Beaufard also served as training union director during his employment at Chrysler. He served in the United States Army from July 1960 to July 1962 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Fort Hood, Texas. Beaufard was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, and uncle to many special nieces and nephews, great friend and neighbor. He will be greatly missed by a large variety of people.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 19, 2021 from 5 to 8 pm at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Grassy Hollow Baptist Church from 9 am until the time of service at 11 am. Pastor Dwight Petete will officiate Beaufard’s funeral.
Interment will follow at Grassy Hollow Cemetery, Shirley, Missouri. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care of DeClue Funeral Home.
